About Us

The Wandering Stage

The Wandering Stage is a 20 foot, custom built trailer that transforms into a full stage at the push of a button; with a stage that lowers from the wall of the trailer and lighting and sound systems that run off of an onboard generator, The Wandering Stage transforms any outdoor space into a venue for live music, theater, speeches, and more! The trailer even includes a backstage area with costume racks, makeup stations, and two full dressing rooms.

We have transformed fields into theaters for performance groups, parking lots into stages for parties and live music, and streets into concerts and community block parties. By being fully mobile, we are able to travel to your event’s location to convert any open, outdoor space into the perfect venue for you!

The Wandering Stage strives to provides a professional, unique, and affordable one-stop-shop for all outdoor events; not only for theater goers and live music lovers, but for non-profit organizations, hospitals, and senior living communities where individuals often have limited mobility.

Our Beliefs

The Wandering Stage was conceived with two core beliefs in mind: the arts, and access to them, are imperative.

  1. The arts are imperative. The performing arts promotes empathy and awareness, brings joy, and facilitates important conversations between communities; the arts bring people of all backgrounds together and provides common ground to build off of.

  2. The arts are meant for everyone. Often, especially as public arts funding is decreasing, the arts are unavailable to many communities. Inaccessibility to venues and high ticket prices consistently deny those with limited mobility, community resources, or lower incomes the opportunity to engage in the performing arts. We believe that by ensuring affordable pricing and offering the ability to make any open, outdoor space into a professional venue, we have the ability to bring the arts the more people.

Nathan McNiff, The Wandering Stage’s Founder and CEO, took his lifelong love of the arts and his professional theater experience and created the first fully mobile theater—after years of performing on stage, he knew exactly what a mobile stage would need from both the performance and technical side. The custom built, 20 ft. trailer comes with all of the equipment, technicians, and expertise needed to transform any event into a professional production and any space into the perfect venue.
